Puerto Vallarta has become a very important art center, with more galleries than any other Mexican coastal destination. They represent Mexico´s finest artists as well as artists from other countries who have chosen Puerto Vallarta as their home.
This is the 13th year for the Old Town Art Walk, which started with 6 galleries and has grown to 16 for the 2008-2009 season.
Old Town or Viejo Vallarta is the original historic center of Puerto Vallarta. Old Town is centered by the Main Plaza, the famous crowned church, La Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, and the City Hall. It offers the largest selection of art galleries, craft shops, boutiques, jewelry stores, gourmet restaurants and cafes, as well as major banks and professional services. Old Town is the area shown on the Art Walk map below, which indicates the location of each participating gallery.
Wear comfortable shoes to walk around the charming cobblestone streets of Vallarta during these special Art Walk nights. Come and experience the joy to be in front of a museum quality piece of art.
